Oh, Miley…

…what are you doing? A couple of weeks ago, it was that provocative performance on “Idol Gives Back”, last week it was some leaked photos on the Internet, and now a Vanity Fair photo shoot. You don’t have to get skanky to make the headlines, dear. Your fans love you no matter what…although the parents of your younger fans may ban you from their houses.
Miley, here are some things you must keep in mind since you are a role model for girls and ‘tweens everywhere.
You are 15. You can’t legally drive in most states, drink, or vote. There’s a certain freedom in being 15–giggling about boys, shopping with friends, and learning about life. Don’t miss the beauty of being young by growing up too fast. It’s something not even your millions of dollars can buy back.
Enough with the trashy photos! Don’t allow yourself to be in compromising situations and if you are don’t let your friends take pictures. And photos where it appears like you and your dad are just a little too close (see below) are never a good idea…
Is this an innocent or gross photo? It makes me uncomfortable. I’m not the only one who thinks it’s creepy either, so do Howard Stern and the ladies of “The View” (article).
Even if it’s supposedly stylish photography, holding a sheet over your cleavage is usually not tasteful art, especially when the subject is 15 (see below).
This just makes me cringe. Both pics are fodder for the minds of child sexual predators.
Now, Miley, really? Weren’t you a little suspicious when you were asked to bear this much skin? Have you ever see a copy of Vanity Fair? I doubt you are as innocent as you say, but I think you are innocent enough. I can understand the naughty photos, but the sexual dancing and the Vanity Fair photos? It seems like everyone is willing to make a buck off of you, yet who is willing to protect you?

Miley cyrus,is being a fool that is trying to be an adult way too soon. Same as the young ms.spears pregnant at 16.These girls are role models for how not to live! Thats my story and I’m sticking to it.

More than anything, I fear for these girls and what all this is doing to their hearts, their souls. I want to hug them and find the little girl in each of them that needs to be loved. I want to tell them how beautiful they are in God and how much Jesus loves them and wants to be real in their lives. That is my heart’s cry for Miley, Jamie Lynn, Britney…all of them.

I’ve probably worked with too many girls who have been violated by adults to have a innocent view of the first pic.
And, yes, the second is…”not that innocent” at all. Nice turn of phrase there, Len.

Miley Cyrus has been a role model for so many girls. She, her parents and Disney now have a responsibility not to lead her fans into disillusionment and or a loss of their own innocence.

It bothers me not only because they are inappropriate, but also because my daughter being 10 -soon to be 11- idolizes her and since she is slowly becoming a teen herself, I don’t want her to think that is what it means to be a teen-ager. That she has to be “sexy”. I want her to still feel free to sleep with a teddy bear and not think that she has to pose with little or no clothes on.

What a phenomenal opportunity for adults to offer grace, for parents to discuss boundaries with their kids, and for America to stop digging up new “scandals”. Puh-leeeeze … I shudder to think of the stuff that could be dug up on my adolescence & am grateful there’s very little documentation of that time of my life! While the photo is actually beautiful, shame on the the photographer for thinking only of her art and not considering how it would compromise a young girl. (jumps off soapbox)

She was my role model untill now!!!
her dad said that if she ever became like britney spears he would make her quit her singing and acting job, well we see what happened she is a slore and he hasn’t done a thing except make her look weird by the picture above the one i am commenting on!!! SHE IS A SLORE!!!!!!!!!1

Uh, I dunno what a “slore” is but I can’t help but wonder why people believe they have the right to slaughter anyone. I mean, seriously, where is the love?
Psychologically speaking, there are many ways she can respond to this: let the people’s word destroy her, tell them all to take a leap, etc… Obviously a big concern would be if and how she might act out in pain. Look at Britney Spears. That girl was “pimped out” by businessmen who made millions off of her. People accuse her of being insane but I can’t help it … I see a victim.
To be a teen and experience conditional love on a national level has got to be a unique & painful experience. I can’t be the only girl in the world who, at the age of 14, did stupid “sexy” poses in front of the mirror. So, watching the media scandalize a young girl FOR PROFIT ticks me off. Okay, rambling… sorry for incoherence.

To be fair, I do believe Paige is a young lady who is a former Miley fan. Slore is probably part of the lingo the kids are using these days. And actually, I do remember Papa Cyrus saying he would never let Miley do that, and Miley herself saying she wouldn’t do that sort of stuff (only a couple of months ago). Very weird change. I think part of it is trying to pull away from the Hannah Montana image, but still…
Thank you, Tracy! I totally see the victimization of a lot of these young women. Sure, at some point Britney could start to make her own choices, but you and I know how strong the family bond is psychologically. Plus with all that activity during her formative years, I doubt she truly developed an identity of her very own.

The problem is that a lot of teens engage in the same behavior as Miley (gross!) and even put it online, but they’re not Miley Cyrus so it’s not as scandalous.
